Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas. The boys were up really early and we got right to opening up presents. Dylan was so excited....he got almost everything he asked for from Santa. Santa even ate his cookies and drank his milk so he was really pleased. Owen loved opening presents. He said he was ready all day....He could have opened presents all day long. After we fininshed opening presents at our house, we headed over to my mom's for some more fun. We usually spend the day at my mom's. It is also her birthday and so we have 2 celebrations. We all opened stockings and then played Disney Monopoly the rest of the day. We ate chicken enchiladas and ate carrot cake for dessert. Let's just say that by the time 7:00 rolled around we were all exhausted. We had a wonderful day and Happy Birthday Mom! I posted some pictures of our fun day.

Christmas Parade

This weekend was the annual Sedro Woolley Christmas Parade. They light the Christmas tree and then they have a parade thru downtown and then Santa comes on a firetruck. The kids love it and we have been going every year since we moved here. I posted some pictures of our fun evening.

3 Year Olds

"I'm 31/2 I can do whatever I want to". That is Owen's new phrase and he uses it all the time. If I hear it one more time I think I am going to scream. We skated through his 2's and now the 3's are getting harder. Thank heavens he is almost 4 and it will have all passed. We have had some down time and it is nice. Next week gets even busier. We have basketball, a christmas program, a parent meeting and a family dinner all in one week. Hopefully this weekend I can rest to be ready for it. Hope you are all having a great week.

Shopping Craziness!!

Wow is all I can say. My day was jammed packed full of shopping and I love it. I love getting up at 4 am to find deals that I just can't pass up. Me, my sister and my cousin Jordan started our morning at walmart at 5am. That place was insane....I went in found what I wanted and was right back out. We then preceeded to Target, JcPenney's, Sears, Fred Meyers and some other little stores.
We were tired from all that so we decided to take a little break, Derrick met us in town with the boys and we took them to see Madagascar 2. It was so funny and the boys loved it. We had our little rest and so we decided to hit up Kmart and some other stores on the way home. Let's just say I am ready for a nap. It was such a fun day and I loved spending the day with my sister and my cousin. I never miss it and I look forward to it every year. Hope everyone had as much fun on Black Friday as I did. I am off to take a little nap.

Leaves, Leaves, Leaves

We spent Wednesday attempting to rake up the leaves in our backyard. With the wind and the boys skydiving into them it was a challange but we made it. At least until the next wind storm. I love the colors of the leaves and the way the trees look they are so beautiful but I hate the mess that they make. I guess it is just another way that God made for us to get exercise. I included some pictures of our afternoon.

I don't know what Owen was thinking?

We have a celebrity!

We have a celebrity in our household. Dylan was on the front page of the newspaper for the Veteran's Day Parade he was in at school. He is excited beyond belief and now I have to try to deflate his head. That should take some time. I included the picture but it is hard to find him because it is so small. Hope you all are enjoying the rainy weather and staying dry!

Bummer Weekend

I know that I told you in my last post that we were planning to have an exciting weekend but our plans changed. Dylan got sick and so we stayed home all weekend while he got better. Our surprise outing was cancelled and the kids were bummed. We were going to take them to watch Madascgar 2. I guess there is still next weekend. I made up for it yesterday and rented them Kung Fu Panda. Let's just say they have watched like 3 times already. What else is Dylan going to do laying in bed. At least it made him feel good. I better get going I have a long list of items that I have to get done today. Mainly stripping Dylan's bed and getting his stuff washed. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Green Eggs and Ham

As you can tell by my title that is the book that Dylan read last night. Yes he read the whole thing with no problem. I am so proud of him. He has turned into such a great reader he is even a head of his grade level. It just delights me to see the look on his face when he sounds out a word that he thinks he doesn't know...the look on his face when he finished the whole book without any help. He was so proud of himself and I was too. Dylan me and daddy are so proud of you and who you are becoming. We love you buddy!!!

Our Busy Weekend!

Let's just say I am glad that the weekend is over. We had a very busy and exhausting weekend I am still trying to recover. I had decided to take on the task of planning a Harvest Party at church on halloween night. It went so well and their were a lot of people there. I had so much fun watching the kids play game and their faces light up when their bags were full of candy. The boys had lots of fun playing with all the kids that came. They haven't even asked about their candy.
Saturday we had our first basketball game. Let's just say we still need some pratice but we will be better next week. We forgot the camera so I don't have any pictures of Dylan yet. I will on Saturday.
Sunday we went to church, came home and just relaxed. Owen wasn't feeling well so he ended up sleeping most of the day away. Sorry if this post is so boring but that is really all we have been up to. I will have more to post after the weekend. We are taking the boys on a surprise outing. Chat at you all soon.

I am a horrible Blogger!!!

I know, I know I am a horrible blogger. We have just been really busy that finding time on the computer is a chore in itself. We started basketball this week, and so now the fun begins. Let me just say I love basketball. I played in high school and I just love it. I hope that Dylan turns out to love it as much as I did. The kids on my team are really cute they are 1st and 2nd graders so you can just imagine how much fun this season is going to be. I will have to keep you posted on the status of our season.
Owen is getting bigger and more independent every day. He is now in his own words 3 1/2. Where did the time go? I remember when he wasn't talking and his favorite activity was trying to crawl on the floor. I look back and wonder where all my time went and that it just reminds me that I should cherish everyday I have with them. I know that soon they will be gone and then what will I do. I love my life and wouldn't change it for anything. I will be back later with some more posts. I promise.

Good-bye to Soccer

This year was the first year that we have tried the whole soccer experience. And I am happy to say that it will be the last. Dylan does not like it because he says that it is too boring we are going to stick with basketball and football which is fine by me. So I decided to post some pictures of his last game. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yesterday was my 30th birthday! I was depressed at first at turning the big 30. I am no longer in my 20's and it just starts to sound so old. Then I realized how much I have to be thankful for and how much fun I have had the last 30 years. I have a wonderful husband, 2 adorable children who make being 30 seem less old. I have a wonderful mom and dad who I admire and an awesome sister who is my best friend. What more could I ask for and why should I be so depressed. God has truly blessed me and I am excited to see what next year brings.
Happy 30th Birthday to me!!!

Happy Anniversary!

Yeah...... Today is my anniversary. It is hard to believe that we have been married for 8 years. I look back on the years and I am amazed at what God has given us. He has given us 2 wonderful, adorable boys that we love, he has allowed us to purchase a house, and he has kept us all safe and healthy. Where would we be without him. Needless to say it has been a wonderful 8 years and I am looking forward to many more. I love you Derrick!!

Happy Grandparents Day!

As most of you know yesterday the 7th was grandparents day. If you didn't know then now you do. I always wonder why it is a holiday that most people forget. I think that it is as important as Mother's Day or Father's Day. I read a poem and a quote the other day that really fit into what I think that Grandparent's Day means.

Few can bring the warmth
We can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love.
Than the smile on their face.

They've a supply of precious stories,
Yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh,
They grow more precious through the years.

I believe that God sent us Grandparents
As our legacy from above,
To share the moments of our life,
As extra measures of his love.

You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.

To all the Grandparents out there. Happy Grandparent's Day!!!!!

MY BABY IS A 1ST GRADER!!!

I know that I haven't written for awhile so I decided that I would start with Dylan's first day of school. My baby started 1st grade today. He is getting so big and so old. I am not sure that I like this. Dylan loved his teacher and his friends that are in his class. His favorite thing about the day was......Lunch! He could not believe that he ate lunch with the big kids. I could not believe how grown up he seems from last year. Enough about that...Dylan here's to you and to the wonderful school year that you are going to have. I hope that you love 1st grade as much as I think you will. I love you lots!!!
